In each moment, there are two possibilities. A single possibility is to have all of our curiosity, focus, and passion focused on what is taking place. The other, is to have that same curiosity, interest, and passion focused on what is not taking place, what is not present, or what we feel must or shouldnt be happening. In every moment, the question is: What are you providing your consideration to? Are you permitting what is, or going to battle with ittrying to alter it in some way?

When our concentrate is on what is, our expertise of what is opens up and becomes larger, richer, and more complete. But when it is on what is not (the previous, the future, or any believed about what is), our experience of the moment contracts and becomes narrower and full of suffering and struggle, since inherent in a focus on what is not is a struggle with what is.

When we look, we learn that most of the time we are in opposition to what is and oriented toward what is not. Life is mainly about how to make issues greater and get much more pleasure, or how to get rid of the items that are painful. We are continually evaluating our expertise, seeking to see whats wrong with what we are experiencing and how it could be enhanced. We tend to be focused on whats wrong with the moment or site on what could be added to it to make it much better. As a outcome, our focus becomes really narrow and our awareness really limited.

Once we see how a lot time we devote struggling with what is, the tendency is to go to battle with thatto attempt to fix that. We assume the remedy is to repair this tendency to try to modify everything. But that only alterations the content material of our struggle: Now we are struggling with our tendency to try to change issues. We suffer over the truth that we are suffering.

The other possibility is to just notice how significantly you suffer, without having trying to do anything about it. Just let the truth that you dont allow considerably. Just recognize that that is the way it is. This struggling with what is, is just what we were conditioned to do and this conditioning is also a component of what is.

Once we cease becoming in opposition to what is, it is feasible to see how all of our struggling comes from the concept of a me. With no the assumption that one thing is my experience, there wouldnt be significantly point in attempting to modify anything about the moment. Our work and struggle to alter what is only tends to make sense if there is a me. It is all in service to keeping the concept of a me. In fact, the struggle is the me. When there is no struggle, there is no me. All of our suffering is how we have and keep an identity.

Once we understand this, the tendency is to attempt to repair thisto attempt to modify our belief about who we are. We focus on acquiring rid of identification, which is once more, focusing on what is not. We are nevertheless suffering since now we are at war with our tendency to identify. Instead of being oriented toward and accepting of what is (our struggle with identification), we are oriented toward how we believe it must be: I really official website should know far better than to be caught in identification I really should know who I really am.

One more possibility is to be actually present to this tendency to determine, without having making any effort to modify it. If thats what is occurring, then thats what is taking place. You just let it be that way. You can even be amazed by it all, like the truth that there is a sense of a me. You see how unreal this me is, but you dont struggle to be rid of it. Theres no longer an assumption that some thing is incorrect that needs to be fixed.

When it is lastly okay for the moment to be just the way it isincluding the fact that we identify as me and consequently battle with the momentthen much more of our encounter can be recognized and included in our awareness. If we are prepared to be present to and let our identification, then it is also achievable to notice something beyond identification, something beyond our jobs in singapore 2012 struggle and effort to sustain a me. What that something is, for lack of a much better word, is Being.

Along with awareness of identification and the struggle and suffering inherent in that, is an awareness of this bigger ground of Getting in which every little thing is taking place. When we see that all the me is and ever has been is a lie, but we dont turn away from that awareness or judge ourselves for it or try to get rid of the me then we commence to notice that, along with the struggling inherent in the me, is a lovely, wealthy presence of Becoming, which is enabling every little thing, like the knowledge of me. We come to see that the mes struggle is only a tiny percentage of our complete experience and that this struggle is taking place in an ocean of permitting. This permitting is Being.

When we are permitting, we include in our awareness what it is that is permitting, and that is Beingwhich is who we truly are. This realization can be a really jolting experience or a very quiet one since Getting is truly extremely familiar. Each moment of allowing has truly been a moment of experiencing Being.

Identification is the source of suffering. It is only the me who ever has a difficulty. All of our suffering can be traced back to identification, to this misunderstanding that the me exists. Its not that the me has a dilemma rather, the me is the dilemma. Everything that the me does is a type of battling with our encounter. The me is this split in our being that goes to battle with itself. Thats all that the me is.

Paradoxically, what brings us beyond the struggle and unlocks the larger view is realizing how considerably we enjoy identifying. As soon as we permit items to be the way they are, it is achievable to admit that identification has been a lot of fun. The illusion of a separate self is an extraordinary act of creation. It has produced the complete drama of human existence. It has inspired many of the excellent functions of art and literature. We really like to identify, but that doesnt mean we also dont suffer from it.

This creation and projecting of a false identitya meis not a mistake. Its organic, spontaneous, and inherent in human nature. Its 1 of the richest components of our experienceand there is also the even richer possibility of no longer mistaking the me as the totality of who we are. Identification isnt a mistake, and yet there is considerably far more to lifeand to usthan that expertise.
