outbreaks can get triggered due to over secretion of sebaceous glands. This disease occurs when dead skin cells and oil get trapped within hair follicle leading to creation of plugs within pore. This plug is called comedone.
If the plug progresses and allows the bacteria to invade them the follicle wall can rupture and create an inflammation with redness. This can vary with the severity which depends on damage to follicle wall and also amount of the infection present. Severe cases may lead to cysts.
Acne appears during the puberty, which is when there is surge of androgen hormone within the body as these hormones stimulates the sebaceous glands, which create oilier complexion that is prone to breakouts.
