Bubble Tea Recipe - Make Bubble Tea in 5 Simple steps
You may be asking yourself: "What the heck is bubble tea?". First it's a very fun drink and something of my personal favorite drinks. Bubble tea is also known as boba tea or pearl milk tea. It's mainly comprised of tea, large pearls of tapioca, fruit flavoring, and milk. You use a sizable straw to drink it and suck in the chewy pearls as you're drinking. You can use any kind of tea you can think of: green tea extract, black tea, jasmine tea and so forth.
So how can you have?
Here are the ingredients: Large tapioca pearls, tea bags, bubble tea powder mix, water, and (optional) sugar/syrup. All of the ingredients can probably be found at your local Asian supermarket.
Here are the steps for that bubble tea recipe.
Note: 1 serving consists of 1 tablespoon of huge tapioca pearls, 3/4 bag base, and 3/4 cup of the dissolved bubble tea powder.
1. Tapioca pearls: Bring water to a boil inside a pot and add the tapioca pearls (8 cups of water per 1 cup of pearls). Boil for 5 minutes while stirring. Turn off heat and allow them to simmer covered for Fifteen minutes. Drain the water after that.
2. Tea base: Bring water to some boil in a pot and add the teabags (3/4 cup of water per 1 teabag). Boil for around 5 minutes.
3. Bubble tea powders: Bring water to some boil inside a pot and add the powder (which often includes a mixture of milk powder along with a flavoring powder) in a package. Proceed as instructed around the package but it's usually about 3/4 cup water and 1 or 2 scoops of powder.
4. To some glass, add 1 full tablespoon of the cooked tapioca pearls, 3/4 bag base, and also the dissolved bubble tea powder. You might want to add 1 tablespoon of sugar or syrup if you want it sweet.
5. Mix everything together and refrigerate for about 1 hour.
