Preparing for the Koh Samui Weather
There's something fascinating about Koh Samui. Besides the natural beauty of their surroundings, the island is also famous for its warm weather that is ideal for obtaining a tan and going for a lazy walk across the pristine white sand.
Generally, the Samui weather conditions are sunny and bright and it is ideal for swimming and offshore diving. It is also perfect for a day-long tour and shopping. Much traffic all parts of the globe easily adore Koh Samui weather which is a primary reason why people continue coming back to this lovely island.
Despite being perfect for the beach, sunny Koh Samui weather has its not-so-lovely aspects. The sun could be unforgiving at times, especially throughout the summer. The general guideline would be to keep the body hydrated. Folks who are utilized to the weather from the tropics are not that susceptible to heat. However, the ones that are used to colder climates must be wary.
Too much exposure to the sun, particularly at its highest point (10 am to three pm) can cause a sunstroke. If not addressed properly, the person may suffer from severe dehydration and fatigue. So, whenever there's a scheduled tour, it's advised to consider enough water supply, along with some energy drinks to maintain the body's fluid balance.
Also, wearing sun protection is a must for just about any visitor to the island. While many take advantage of the Samui weather to get a tan, your skin can become dry and patchy when subjected to the sun's rays. The use of lotion with SPF or sun protection factor of 15 and above is highly recommended. The damaging sunrays could cause sunburn, dark spots, and also at its worse, skin cancer. Better be safe than sorry.
Along with SPF lotions and drinking lots of water, wearing protective clothing and gears like sun visor and hat is also recommended. When by the pool, your body is subjected to greater quantity of sunrays since the water surface has a tendency to reflect the rays and cause some glare. To shield your body and also to keep up with the body's temperature, wearing loose and comfy cotton clothing is advised, especially during a beach stroll.
Since it is located in the tropics, Samui is also prone to rain showers and thunderstorms. During these times, it is advisable to steer clear of the beach and stay indoors, just to be on the safe side.
