What Is A True Christian

It's a question that is asked very often. What is a Christian? Together with it are many other questions. What does it mean to become a Christian? What defines a Christian? Why is Christians different from individuals who aren't Christians? How do i tell if someone is a Christian? So how exactly does it benefit me to become a Christian? These are merely some of the questions people ask pertaining to Christianity. Statistics reveal that about 33% from the world's population identify themselves as Christians. As a child, my parents were Catholics. So of course I visited the Catholic mass every week. When people would inquire about my religion, without hesitation I would identify myself as Catholic.

Same with it really that simple? Should you be born and raised in Indiana, you'd be considered a "Hoosier." So, if your parents were Christian and also you grew up inside a Christian Church, does which make you a Christian? Christianity, however, isn't that simple. But who likes simple anyway? I had been from Indiana and that makes us a Hoosier, basically. But, how does that plain and simple fact profit me as a human being, like a husband, as a brother, like a worker, etc.? I grew up in the Catholic Church and identified myself like a Catholic, basically. But, how did that plain and simple fact benefit me when i continued to grow from my adolescence into adulthood? Should you asked me what I learned from likely to mass, sadly not a whole lot. The reason why is just because my heart wasn't in it. Insidewithin all of me, there wasn't a need to learn anything. Do you know what it really means to be a Hoosier besides being someone that's from Indiana?

Being a Christian isn't something that's inherited. It isn't something you become by association. It's not even about religion. It is something you feel. Being a Christian is a choice, a conscious choice. A genuine Christian is really a individual who not just believes in Jesus Christ because the only begotten Son of God, but an individual who willingly exemplifies in the or her lifetime the teachings of Jesus. This individual determines within their heart to read the Bible, study the life and behavior of Jesus and emulates it in their own life. They do not attempt to change the words of the Bible to make it attract them, however they let the words of the Bible change them, so they can appeal to God. The key word there's "change." The life of the true Christian will invariably exhibit change.

So, if a person identifies themselves as a Christian plus they haven't even read one of the Gospels in the entirety, do you consider they can truly claim to be a Christian? If a person from the determining factors of being a Christian is exemplifying the life of Jesus through his word, how can you fully realize that which you don't read? Let's say you do not apply that which you read for your life? What if you realize the Bible says to love your neighbor as yourself, but there are people you hate and should not stand? In the event you still identify yourself as a Christian? How about if the word says not to commit adultery, however, you call yourself a Christian during sleep around? The Bible answers these questions very easily in Matthew 7:20 which says; "By their fruits, you shall know them." So if you know the word and what it really says about morals and behavior, you are able to tell the ones won't be and who is a classic Christian.

No one can take credit to be a Christian. Nor can anyone self-proclaim themselves as a Christian. The Bible proves this in John 15:16 when Jesus said, "You haven't chosen me, however i have chosen you... " Within the natural, there is no reason behind one to accept Jesus Christ and change their lives to reflect His. The reason being many of us are born separated from God with a sinful nature. This makes us naturally rebellious towards God and anything that has to do with Him. What goes on when we start drawing close to God is that His Holy Spirit is birthing those desires within our hearts, supernaturally. He ultimately leaves careful analysis us of whether we want to draw closer or farther away. As we draw closer and receive Jesus into our hearts by confessing Him as our Lord and Savior, at that moment we're indwelt with the Holy Spirit and immediately "born again" out of the sinful nature and in to the nature of God. Once again, this occurs supernaturally, so within the natural, we do not feel it or perceive it yet.

To a person who's truly seriously interested in letting Jesus change them; this new nature should result in a new lifestyle, a different way of thinking, a different way of talking along with a new way of acting. This person reads the Bible, the Holy Spirit blesses her or him with discernment and that he or she applies the things they learn how to their lives. It is really an ongoing process. So when the Bible says do not commit adultery, we obey and become faithful spouses. Once the bible says forgive as God in Christ forgave us, we obey with no longer hold grudges. We obey the term if this says to put off anger, wrath, blasphemy, and filthy communication out of our mouths. Once the Bible says also . to one another, we obey and be honest. Implementing the term within our daily lives brings us true peace that passes understanding. It'll make us better husbands, wives, better mothers, fathers, better children, better friends, etc. God also promises countless blessings such as healing, overall total life prosperity, victory within the problems of this world and many more! The evidence of us being Christian won't be a lot in that we declare it, but in our actions and exactly how we live daily!
