Samsung Fascinate - Verizon Wireless

releasing the Galaxy S with the other three US carriers, Samsung has not gone ahead and unleashed the Samsung Fascinate on Verizon Wireless. The Fascinate is a candybar touchscreen phone and runs on Google's Android platform. Lets have a look at some of its specs:

Size and Display:

The phone sports a simple style with round edges and is made up of plastic. The dimensions of the phone are 125 X 64 X 10.5 mm and it weighs 116 grams. Like other Galaxy S phones, this one also sports a 4.0 inches 800 x 480 resolution Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen display. Other features include an accelerometer sensor, touch-sensitive controls, proximity sensor.

Processor, OS and User interface:

Fascinate is powered by a ARM Cortex A8 1GHz Hummingbird processor and runs on Android platform version 2.1 which can upgraded to version 2.2. The handset uses Samsung's TouchWiz 3.0 User interface which is fast and easy to access.

Camera:

Samsung Fascinate has a 5 megapixel camera with features like autofocus, geo-tagging, touchfocus, face and smile detection. Images up to a resolution of 2592 X 1944 pixels and videos of 720 pixels at 30 frames per second can be shot. A secondary VGA camera is useful for video conferencing. Unlike other Galaxy S phones, this one has a LED flash.

Multimedia features:

Samsung Fascinate offers a MP3/WAV/eAAC+/AC3/FLAC music player and MP4/DivX/WMV/H.264/H.263 video player. Combine that with the amazing crisp sound of the speakers and you will have an out of the world multimedia experience.

Battery:

The handset has a standard Li-Po 1500 mAh which is pretty good and offers stand-by time of 13 days and talk time of 7 hours.
