Sports Betting Tip - Knowing When to NOT Bet
Since I are already broadcasting daily sports picks throughout the last 4 months, I've been looking every single day to find the best plays available for subscribers. Most of the time, there's a good bet to be made and they can be found quickly.
But in other cases, there is just not a good bet to be noticed anywhere. The payouts are far too low, the match up just isn't even, or something else just causes it to be check out me as though nothing is worth the risk. There just is not any advantage to be found at all within the lines on some days.
Perhaps I realize that because I never consider the games being played on any given day for value. I consider the books lines to find value, of course, if there is any value available I am going to take a look on the teams and measure the likelihood of my team winning my bet.
Many people will begin using a game and then proceed to "handicap" it up against the lines. The fishing line could have no value whatsoever. In hockey you frequently find games where both teams are in -110 or worse. Yet you may still find people handicapping those games and making bets.
Sports betting will be the only type of gambling where you have total control of the rules. You can bet only about the specific games you want to bet on, and just when the lines indicate there is value amongst people. But what is value?
Any bet you can find with a payout of +150 has potential value. I cannot think about it for living of me why someone would make a bet at -150, but it happens constantly. A bet has value when you are able win significantly more than you risk over a 50-50 proposition.
On some days, you may have to be satisfied with a bit smaller payout to obtain the right game. But on other days, there are simply poor quality bets. On those times, why bet at all? You could win the bet, but actually you might too have got your wager and bought lottery tickets with it.
Search for the lines to find out if there is certainly any potential value. If you have, go through the games to see if it is definitely there. Unless you see a team having a 50% potential for winning you +150 payout, there is no rule that says you need to bet anything.
Knowing when to NOT bet a game is evenly as important to long-term winning as knowing which games to bet on.
