DNC 2012 concerns Center City Charlotte
Charlotte DNC convention - As Charlotte, North Carolina prepares to host the 2012 Democratic National Convention; a lot of preparations has to be made. With more than 35,000 people expected to come in town for that event, one big industry that must prepare is hospitality. Hotels within the Charlotte area already are reserved. Delegates from all different states will remain in 56 hotels ranging from Concord to SouthPark. Each state’s delegates are separate by hotel. In some cases, one state’s delegates will stay at several different hotels. Though official DNC headquarters will be at hotels, The Westin Charlotte and Hilton Center City.
Charlotte center city - For non-delegates and non-officials wanting to visit Charlotte throughout the Democratic National Convention, hotels rates have skyrocketed. In some cases hotel rates have quadrupled. One of the most expensive hotels is charging $849.15 to $1,014 per night, when their normal rate is $126.65 to $184 per night. While these price is outrageous, hotel managers say it’s difficult to predict just what visitors will be willing to pay. The fact that Obama is surely an incumbent is surely an added draw, and people are certain to get desperate close to convention time.
Charlotte center city - The town of Charlotte is making many preparations ahead of the DNC comes to September, just like the countless businesses in uptown. Hotels, restaurants and local shops must be willing to accommodate the thousands of people anticipated to receive town.
