A wicker basket bakes an excellent decorative accessory for your home or cottage. Not just for "looks" either, these baskets have numerous practical uses as well. No home is complete without the unique blend of practicality and charm that may only be offered by wicker baskets.
Wicker baskets have history! Returning to thousands of years BC, these baskets were woven from pliable and fibrous plant materials including oak, ash, willow, cane and reed. Typically the solid or reed woven base was laid down first, then, the vertical staves were added being a support frame. The circumference, or sides, of the basket were then woven in a over-under pattern to complete the basket. Different weave placements or materials could possibly be used to create different patterns or finishes. A lid or handle could then be added if desired.

In order to change the look of the basket, or better match the decor of your particular setting, simply spray paint the basket any color you decide on.
