Kinds of Seizures
When people think about someone using a seizure most would think about them dropping to the ground as well as their entire body convulsing. This is where people think wrong. There are several various kinds of seizures available that people don't know exist. Just because someone has epilepsy or seizures does not mean they fall to the ground when they have one. I'm going to go through the different types of seizures so people may have a better understanding of them.
Seizures are placed into two different categories: generalized seizures and partial seizures.
Generalized: cope with electrical charge to each side of the brain.
Partial: cope with electrical charge in one limited area of the brain or simply one for reds from the brain.
Generalized Seizures
Let's move on off by getting digging into generalized seizures. Some of the various kinds of seizures in this category are the types of methods most people would imagine a seizure.
Tonic-Clonic: referred to as "grand mal" and also the main seizure that individuals think about when they hear the word. The person will drop to the floor and almost every muscle stiffens while the person jerks. It always lasts One to three minutes and the person can easily injure themself.
Absence: This is when an individual blanks out anywhere from a couple seconds to 30 seconds and is unacquainted with their surroundings. They might blink their eyes repetitively and eyes could also roll-up into the back of the head. Those who have these types of seizures may have 30 - 60 a day.
Atonic: In this seizure people basically lose all muscle and strength and merely drop down. They stay conscious and aware during this kind of seizure but does not mean its easy on their body.
Myoclonic: Most people would not even see these as seizures because they are so simple. They are very brief jerks of a muscle or perhaps a muscle. They only last for a second or two. It's like the sudden jerk you might believe awakens you when dropping off to sleep.
Tonic: Leads to a person's body to stiffen up and lasts for around 20 seconds. The individual doesn't always fall but could lose balance when muscles stiffen or maybe they have multiple seizures in a row. This particular seizure often happens while one is sleeping.
Clonic: Not often seen alone and just includes repeated jerking. The jerking can't be stopped even when someone attempts to restrain person having the seizure. This type of seizure usually only happens using the body stiffening part or "grand mal" when i discussed before.
Partial Seizures
Partial seizures from what I know can be extremely tough to diagnose because people perform some weird things during these seizures.
Simple Partial: The thing different concerning the simple partial are people stay sharp and may can remember the whole thing. However the way it is differs from individual to individual. It may be anything from a pain in ones stomach, a feeling of deja vu, or the sound of ringing. There's a whole listing of stuff that happen to people who have these. They merely last as much as two minutes.
Complex Partial: If you notice somebody have one of these simple you may think they're just crazy. People become unacquainted with everything happening around them. The individual will normally repeat actions things like picking at clothing, making noises, swiping in the air etc. The individual could also do embarrassing things such as begin taking off their clothing or get themselves right into a dangerous situation. They don't last lengthy but the body's normally confused from 15 minutes to hours afterwards and do not remember a thing.
The seizures I talked about are some of the most typical seizures a person will see. I did previously think there was just one type of seizure until I started getting them. I hope everybody who look at this will be more aware of people who have epilepsy or seizures.
