- 1 The tempo as you will agree is amazing. If you happen to be a listener of this brand then you understand what I mean. This type of music happens to allow you to bob your head to it due to it's speed also known as tempo. At 99 BPM (the speed of your normal rap song) with drum patterns at half time, this genre carries an interesting mix of high energy and near frantic synthesizer sequences while delivering the drums at exactly half the speed also known as tempo (34 BPM). You also need to think Beat Making Software about the modulated bass lines that have been intensely added which happens to give it a dirty south vibe.
Reason Two Marketability. Even though this type of music started in the underground and original enthusiasts and producers of this genre really detest the fact that mainstream artists are beginning to use it more, the fact is dubstep is quite catchy. It definitely has great potential of becoming mainstream, especially with rap music taking over the hip hop and r&b world already. Since a good number of indie songs happen to be out there with the same speed also known as tempo range as dubstep, I see these songs being mixed together.
Reason 3 Pure rap will remain just that, pure. Those who are listening to rap now think that it going to mainstream levels will ruin it but I disagree, I think the opposite will happen. Those who were into rap in the beginning will continue making new and even better original rap music or create a new genre. I'm inclined to believe that the rap world can't destroy a whole genre. If you think about it, rap started in the underground and although there is mainstream rap, there is still underground rap which hasn't changed much at all. dance music went mainstream in the mid 2000s but that didn't stop originators of the genre from making fresh rap tracks that never made it to mainstream. Basically there's nothing to worry about, dubstep will just become mainstream and there will be underground as well.
You might be sitting there not knowing what rap is, well head over to You Tube and check out some artists and you'll be hooked!
