新規ページ

When you touch down at the airport, you have various options for getting to your ski resort. You could get the train, or the coach or you could hire a car. But there are things you should consider with all these options. There could be serious waits for the next train or coach as the train or bus leaving times may not coincide with your flight arrival time. When you get to the train or coach drop off point, you will likely have to hang around for a taxi or another bus up the mountain to your accommodation.

Another option is to rent a vehicle as if there are only a couple of you, this can be less expensive than a private transfer and much simpler than catching the coach or train. However, you should watch out for charges when hiring a vehicle. If you are driving to the ski resort you must have snow tyres, snow chains and probably a ski rack if you are carrying your own ski equipment. All this costs extra. There is often not much parking in the ski town. Chances are you will need to pay for parking for the duration of your stay and this can get expensive. And of course you need to know how to get there.

But if you decide to use a a specialist ski transfer company, then the chauffeur will meet you at the arrivals lounge, he will assist you with your luggage, and drive you in comfort to your hotel or apartment. All you have to do is sit there and relax. There are no worries about driving in the snow, finding your way, fitting snow chains, where to park.

If you are flying into Geneva airport then you can hire a car from either the French side of the airport, or the Swiss side but you need to ensure the car has the correct vignettes. Car hire from the France side often costs less as it does not include the Swiss vignette, but means you cannot enter Switzerland and must take the long route round. You will also need to pay for petrol costs which are at least 50 Euros each way, tolls which are another 15 to 20 Euros each way. It is far easier and often costs less to find a mini-bus firm doing [http://genevaairport.blinkweb.com/ taxis from Geneva airport].

If you are arriving into Lyon airport then the road tolls are much more, around 30 Euros each way and it is a three trip to the Three Valleys Ski resorts. It can be a long tedious journey along the motorway. Far better to find a firm offering [http://www.acidplanet.com/artist.asp?blog=1171303&T=9046 taxi from Lyon airport] and book with them.

Chambery airport is the closest to the ski area and is only around an hour's drive away. However, the road to the ski resorts can be very busy and take much longer in peak seasons. You can catch the Alti-Bus through to Moutiers, the nearest large place to the ski region and then get a taxi or bus up to the resort, but for ease and less stress why not use [http://chamberyairporttransfers.bravesites.com/entries/business/chambery-town taxi from Chambery airport]

Finally the least used airport for the Trois Vallees is Grenoble. This is further on than Lyon by around forty-five minutes and so makes for a three hour trip to most ski resorts in the Trois Vallee area. Instead of having to worry about road taxes, traffic, weather and where you are going, book [http://tina24thomas.webstarts.com/index.html?r=20120820104433 Grenoble airport taxi] and sit back and relax or sleep for the journey.

Which ever way you decide to travel make sure you plan well in advance and find out bus and train times or book your airport transfer early, especially if travelling high season when transfer operators get booked up quickly and seats on trains and coaches can be scarce.
