After leaving the parking area, the path takes you on a moderate climb up Long Mountain. At the very top you are greeted with a few breathtaking views with the Hudson River and the Hudson River Valley. The top of the hill is dedicated to Raymond H. Difficulty

Hiking during the winter months tends to be more challenging due to the small patches of ice on the trail. The trail is mostly cleared and at points even lined with logs. In comparison to other stretches of Long Path, the section by US 6 is quite mild in difficulty.
