Warehouse lighting - Cardinal Fastener Teams Up with ROI Energy For Sustainability

Cardinal Fastener quickly reduces carbon footprint while reducing energy charges and doubling lighting levels.

Factory lighting - Cardinal Fastener Inc., the main maker of hot forged fasteners in North America, just recently finished a lighting retrofit of its 90,000 square foot facility based in Cleveland, Ohio. This installation of energy efficient lighting lowered their Carbon Dioxide (CO2) emissions by 294 tons, the same as removing 53 automobiles off the highway or conserving 33,317 gallons of gasoline.

Cardinal Fastener brought in Bob Taussig's Northeast Ohio firm, ROI Energy Solutions Inc., for the job. "This update improved the quality of light in the plant, increasing productivity and reducing our lighting energy costs by 48%," said Wendy Brugmann, EVP & COO of Cardinal Fastener. "I especially enjoyed working with ROI Energy, as they were efficient and did not interfere with operations in the least."

Bob Taussig, president of ROI Energy, confirms that business owners usually can save 50% in lighting energy costs, achieve twice the brightness in fabrication and warehouse environments, capture a rewarding EPAct accelerated tax deduction worth several tens of thousands of dollars and in nearly all instances qualify for utility company rebate incentives, aiding to offset the expense of these cost savings initiatives. Taussig said: "My customers typically attain paybacks in well within 24 months."
